cock.li has replaced their homepage with a "red alert". Nobody is exactly sure what's going on, but there's fears that they were compromised or that there was an attempt. As of this moment, registration and password changes are down, but existing mail can be accessed at mail.cock.li
Last week anonymous filehoster buzzheavier shutdown after *9TB* of cp was uploaded between October 31 to November 3 and their servers were seized. With the Internet Archive being breached last month and these other recent events, the paranoid part of me can't help but feel that there's been a ramp-up in attacks on the free and open parts of the net. I'm not naive enough to think that it's possible to be truely anonymous from governments or big tech while using the internet, but there seems to be a push to shutdown or destroy services that don't require an account tied to a phone number or ID to use.
