0chan.vip is a node running "multichan" , a federated textboard that uses tags rather than boards . It can federate over Tor ! we also have a shitton of ATOM feeds: > https://0chan.vip/atom/ What do you guys think of our project?
>>fprog-ZS0MGEI9 (OP) looks comfy
>>fprog-QYQ1RBG6 yes, its very alpha, but i am planning to add: * better tag searching in client * whitelisting of more image hosts and maybe youtube, invidious * a scraper/archiver that functions as a relay (so multichan people can browse 4-ch and SAoVQ etc.) * board ownership kind of like 8ch where a user can "own" a board * tree-mode frontend like reddit, usenet, http://ayashii.net/?m=tree etc So Fchan uses Activitypub? Does it link with Pleroma or Lemmy (ap reddit) nicely?
ripirc.org is another node with less strict moderation.
>>fprog-ZS0MGEI9 (OP) Is there any way to find out who's federated with whom? It would be useful to see a network graph of all the federated chans.
>>fb-UEL0EHE2 → wait what? how would that work? I don't see why it would make sense to connect the two, due to discussion format. But on the other hand, it would ve interesting to see a Lemmy instance where people are anonymous.
>>fprog-PMN3RBK8 curl -H 'Accept: application/json' https://fchan.xyz/followers to see every node that follows fchan.xyz. There's no universal list though. >>fprog-9TE5Q083 Well the way fchannel federation works is that admins manually connect a local board to a remote one, and then all remote threads and replies just get transparently mixed in with local ones. So I am imagining that you could connect a remote community on lemmy to a local board, and then their posts would show up as threads on the board. The fchan dev has already made some strides toward this since fchan has migrated to using the same AP actor type as lemmy for communities and boards. To be honest about 40% of my motivation for doing this is that the lemmy devs are a little sjw-y and I think it'd be funny if one day anonymous imageboard posters showed up in their communities.

>>fprog-BNWJJWS8 > the way fchannel federation works is that admins manually connect a local board to a remote one, and then all remote threads and replies just get transparently mixed in with local ones. That's how we do it, too. We are soon adding a feature for multichan to scrape "normal" textboards/imageboards, thus granting it "archiving" ability (and probably pissing off some devs in the process). The first step for a federated project is being able to talk with itself; being able to talk with other kinds of softwares is even more fun!
>>fprog-BNWJJWS8 >>fprog-S6THVZ24 you two faggots should combine efforts steal whatever is good from 0chan and put it into Fchan if you two stop being autistic and instead start working together, this idea of decentralised shitposting platform might actually take off
>>fprog-SAQEDFS9 i approve this though if you can't work together you could at least make your protocols compatible so 0chan and fchan can talk
>>fprog-ZS0MGEI9 (OP) is this dead?
>>fprog-01IJ07Q7 i guess so, it was running fchan for a while
>>fprog-01IJ07Q7 brought it back up for the 1 year anniversary >>fprog-ICULFQQT that's bbs.killthepresident.club , took it down because I got sick of getting CP / nazi shit uploaded to my server with no easy way of shutting it down.
>>fprog-ELTST4BH Don't want to jinx it but it's nice the feds fucked off for now.
>>fb-K9UOZKIJ spoke too soon
>>fb-K9UOZKIJ >>fprog-LPA40OPD What's wrong with them? Why do you think they're feds?
>>fprog-R0FI8MGI they attract the them so they might as well be them
